The money laundering case against the Supertech group, its directors and promoters stems from a clutch of FIRs registered by the police departments in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. In the FIRs, Supertech and its directors were accused of cheating as they collected funds from home buyers as an advance against booked flats but failed to hand over the flats to them. A report said housing sales rose in Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad, but fell in Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata. India’s housing market saw an eight per cent increase in sales in the second quarter of the year across major cities including Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad, but declined in five others, namely Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata, an analysis by real estate advisory firm, PropTiger, said. High demand in Maharashtra’s Mumbai and Pune drove housing sales higher by eight per cent to 80,250 units compared to last year’s April to June period, when 74,320 units were sold across “primary (fresh sales) residential markets” of the eight cities, the firm said in a ‘Real Insight Residential — April-June 2023’ report released on Wednesday. A 26-year-old MBA student, who was shot by a man in his office in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur last week, succumbed to her injuries on Monday in a city hospital. Congress claimed that the accused, identified as Priyansh Wishwakarma, was associated with the BJP.  The 26-year-old Vedika Thakur was an MBA student.  A 26-year-old girl, who was shot by a man in his office last week in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, succumbed to her injuries during treatment at a hospital, the police said on Monday. The woman, identified as Vedika, went meet the accused at his office on June 16. Vedika Thakur, who was an MBA student, was kept on life support system for the past 10 days. “The 26-year-old victim was undergoing treatment for the bullet injury at a hospital, where she died on Monday,” Sanjeevni Nagar police station in-charge Kranti Barve told news agency PTI. Seven Muslim students of the government medical college in Thiruvananthapuram sought permission from the principal to allow them to wear long sleeve scrub jackets and surgical hoods inside the operation theatre. The students who made the demand said they had to cover their heads all time as part of their religious beliefs, and it was not possible to wear hijabs inside the operation theatres. Seeking an alternative to hijab, at least seven Muslim students of the government medical college in Thiruvananthapuram asked the college principal to allow them to wear long sleeve scrub jackets and surgical hoods inside the operation theatre. The college principal said that he would call a meeting of surgeons and the infection control team to discuss the matter, adding that the team would decide on the request made by the students. A fisherman in Florida was bitten and pulled into a river by a shark after he had dipped his hands in the water to wash them. The incident that took place on Friday was caught on camera by his friend who had accompanied him on the fishing trip. The man was airlifted to a hospital for treatment soon after the incident.
