The man was airlifted to a hospital for treatment soon after the incident.

A fisherman was bitten and dragged into a river by a shark while he was on a boat in Florida in the United States. The incident occurred when the fisherman dipped his hands in the river water despite a warning from his friend.

The whole incident, which happened at Florida’s National Everglades Park, was captured on camera by the man’s friend. In the video, the man can be seen rinsing his hands in the water. Seconds later, a shark bit his hand, after which he could be heard screaming in pain. The shark pulled him into the water.

The man’s friend, in a now-deleted post, had shared the video on social media along with a caption describing the incident calling it “one of the scariest days” he had had on the water.

The video and caption posted by him were reshared by social media handlers to caution people in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The man’s friend, Michael Russo, had said that his friend “washed his hands in the water and was immediately bit by a large bull shark.” He said, “There was no chum or blood in the water and the sharks were unprovoked.”

The injured fisherman was airlifted to a hospital after the national park officials arrived at the spot of the incident, according to Russo.

“He was rushed back to the dock and the park rangers were a lifesaver (literally). He was airlifted to the hospital and is in the best care possible,” the fisherman’s friend said.
