A 40-year-old man who was arrested by the Mumbai police for allegedly murdering an air hostess at her residence in Mumbai’s Marol died by suicide in a police lock-up, the PTI reported. The accused, Vikram Atwal, a housekeeping staffer was arrested for killing the 23-year-old air hostess by slitting her throat inside her flat. The air hostess, Rupal Ogrey, originally from Chhattisgarh, arrived in Mumbai in April this year for her job with Air India. She lived with her sister at the flat. however, when the incident happened, she was alone at the flat.   Vikram Atwal’s body has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigations are underway.

A 26-year-old MBA student, who was shot by a man in his office in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur last week, succumbed to her injuries on Monday in a city hospital. Congress claimed that the accused, identified as Priyansh Wishwakarma, was associated with the BJP.  The 26-year-old Vedika Thakur was an MBA student.  A 26-year-old girl, who was shot by a man in his office last week in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, succumbed to her injuries during treatment at a hospital, the police said on Monday. The woman, identified as Vedika, went meet the accused at his office on June 16. Vedika Thakur, who was an MBA student, was kept on life support system for the past 10 days. “The 26-year-old victim was undergoing treatment for the bullet injury at a hospital, where she died on Monday,” Sanjeevni Nagar police station in-charge Kranti Barve told news agency PTI.
