Rats carrying cameras on tiny backpacks are being trained to search disaster areas for survivors. The new project comes from Belgian and US non-profit organisation Apopo, which focuses on training southern giant pouched rats to detect landmines and tuberculosis. The animals are known as “Herorats”. The rodents are kitted out with small, high-tech backpacks to help first responders search for survivors in war zones or disaster areas. “Rats are typically quite curious and like to explore — and that is key for search and rescue,” Donna Kean, a behavioural research scientist and leader of the project, told CNN. The rats' size, excellent sense of smell and adventurous spirit make them perfect for locating things in tight places, she said. National Testing Agency, NTA has released the notification for the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination, AISSEE 2023. Candidates can submit their AISSEE application form on the official website, aissee.nta.nic.in, if they intend to apply for admissions into Class 6 and Class 9 in Sainik Schools throughout India. According to the NTA's official timetable, the AISSEE 2023 Exam will be held on January 8 in about 180 cities across the nation. The application deadline for the AISSEE exam is November 30, 2022.   Six years after the Indian government passed the RERA Act, it has made remarkable progress in addressing consumer complaints in real estate, as per Anarock. In the last three years of the pandemic, the number of projects registered under RERA went up by 109% to 94,513 projects, a report by the real estate services firm, says. Real Estate Regulatory Authority or RERA was put in place by the government to bring accountability and transparency to the sector, and help reduce project delays and property fraud. “At the end of the day, RERA still lacks sufficient execution powers – a fact which the Supreme Court has also expressed apprehensions over. Meanwhile, the pandemic did not break the pace of project and real estate agent registrations over the last three years,” says Anuj Puri, chairman of Anarock Group.
